("close! mama!) he's just started carrying around all of his belongings too - baby cow, roar (a stuffed dino), three blankies and any paci he can get his hands on. lately he sneaks upstairs to get a paci out of his bed....uh-oh this is not headed in the right direction! he and christopher are becoming closer and closer. at the grocery store yesterday with sean along he looked at the seat in the cart next to him and said, "chris?" they play and fight in the same breath...once you think they are really going to get into it sometimes they both just start laughing at something. click here to view these pictures larger sean has opinions of his own now - buddy is good. coats of any kind...very bad. doing things for himself is good (no. me!). getting a diaper change...mostly bad. i know he's related to mama because i gave him a red hot yesterday and he loved it! i can't believe my sweet baby is 2 already. just last year we were eating elmo cake when he just started walking. now he's independent, curious, funny and chatty. he suprises me all the time - but the best one is an out of the blue..."i - love - mommy." i love you too, sean. happy birthday. posted at 09:50 pm | permalink | comments (0) | trackback (0) | | | november 26, 2010 thanksgiving day - preschool style hope you had a great thanksgiving! christopher has been practicing his new turkey song all fall and we are proud to share it with you. here are the words in case you need a cheat sheet... turkey, turkey look at you please be careful what you do thanksgiving day will soon be here we eat turkey every year. go and hide out in the woods we'll eat pizza as we should! sean had a great thanksgiving too and we had a great fall day our with our friends. sean turns two in a couple weeks! it's so hard to believe! we had justin and shandi and marge (justin's mom) and jim over for thanksgiving dinner. it was crazy but great! we couldn't have done it without shandi! posted at 08:48 pm | permalink | comments (1) | trackback (0) | | | november 05, 2010 the construction monkey hi everyone, hope you all shared a fun halloween like we did! oma was here and we had a great time trick or treating and celebrating with friends. shandi and shannon went trick or treating with us. the kids nearly lost their nerve when they walked up to our neighbor's house & smoke came from the front door! christopher was chasing our neighbor trying to keep up with the big kids - and when i was going to take sean home he said defiantly, "more house!"he didn't like the idea of leaving daddy behind at the house so he visited him often. for halloween they were a monkey (sean) and a construction worker (christopher) - though cpj kept telling people he was going to be a friendly monster....hmmm... clout came to visit from arizona too and we had an awesome time catching up! it's so great to get together with good friends and recenter - and a night downtown shopping and eating never hurt any mom. here are some photos! click here to view these pictures larger we have had lots of gearing up for halloween including trips to great country and cox farms! we had such a pretty day at cox farms! papa and miss sarah came to visit us and we even had a little bday party for sarah who turned 32 while she visited the us:) click here to view these pictures larger in september we went on our first camping trip! mama was with us and such a good sport in her own little pup tent. they boys were so dirty and filled with only chips for dinner but they went to sleep from 9 to 7 am!! we had to nearly bring a camper to hold all the gear we brought for one night in a nearby neighborhood - but i think it was a very successful test run. but next time when our friends' house is not 10 feet away for diaper changes we may have to wait a year or so:) we had a great time on our frist trip to the national zoo in sept. it was so big we didn't come close to covering it all but we'll get there eventually. click here to view these pictures larger the boys and rob are doing great..we've clearly been keeping busy and sometimes the kids just say let's go to "my house" mom. sean is talking so much and just yesterday learned to say "i love." it is the cutest, most heart melting thing you have ever hard. he'll get your attention..."mama!" then say, "i love." he's putting two and three words together and is happily asking all the time what things are by pointing and saying "geee?" not sure why gee but hey ..he's got the idea. sean will be 2 in 5 short weeks and it's completely hard to believe. he is so independent and already started saying, "no, me!" when he wants to do something himself. christopher is into pretend and hide and seek. (yes it seems whenever anyone's shoes need to go on there is a massive game of hide & seek!) his imagination is just on fire though - he tells stories and plays with his animals. he even learned a thanksgiving song at school which he sang for us on halloween - it's so fun when they learn new things that you don't even know. he was so proud signing it though! i think he really likes preschool though it's still a lot of new faces for all of us. oh rob and i had to get a new car after my jeep died....we got an acadia which i love and rob tolerates:) the boys are really starting to play together nicely and you can tell they care about each other a lot. when daddy's wrestling with sean - christopher says - "mom, we have to go help sean!" we are so looking forward to a long break at thanksgiving - we'll be around in case anyone wants to learn a new thanksgiving song - look out adam sandler! posted at 10:47 pm | permalink | comments (3) | trackback (0) | | | september 13, 2010 happy first day of school christopher! christopher and mckenna on their first day of preschool! posted at 09:34 am | permalink | comments (1) | trackback (0) | | | august 21, 2010 caught by surprise it's an amazing thing as a parent when your child learns something new. something that surprises and delights you as much as it does him. we were at table rock lake this week with oma, papa, uncle luke, lauren, uncle nick & molly. when you swim off boats you don't often have a beach, you just use a float and hang out in the water. jumping off the boat into water when you can't see the bottom is a lot to ask of a 3 year old - life jacket or not! when we first got here this was the conversation: adult: "christopher, let go of the ladder!" christopher: "no way jose!"
